Crazy Weekend Fun

Wow! It’s been a full month since I’ve found time to update this. Life is absolutely cruising by this year. It’s amazing and mind blowing at the same time. I’ll try to step up the updates ASAP.
Connie and I spent the past weekend in Las Vegas, Nevada shooting a wedding for local rocker and all around good guy Joey Stevens. Neither of us had been there before and we’re both pretty confidant we’ll be hard-pressed to experience it like that ever again…if you’re up for bunking that theory, please, by all means, put us to work! What an intense and other-wordly time it was. Thank you Joey and Jamie for asking us to be there and for doing 1/2 the work to get these rad images. It takes the EVERYONE involved, form subject, to lighting, to cameraman to make images that tell a story…I could NEVER do this on my own. Connie rocked the light rig like a sherpa on the rocks and blasting wind; we get stronger as a team with every shoot and it really is such an amazing perk to this gig! Thanks babe.
I love my job!

Just taking a quick second to say thanks again to Carla & Billy for having us out last fall to cover their big day. Connie and I had a blast with both of them, their families and their great wedding party. A little different than the normal post, but quite a few of these are Connie’s shots. She doesn’t shoot a lot, but when she can it’s always a treat to see what she does.
This is a wedding party that knows how to ROCK! Sun up to sun down they made sure this was Carla and Billy’s BIG DAY! THIS is the kind of wedding party you want!
Obviously this is from a a bit back. My hat is off to everyone involved for their patience while I got these done the only way I know how. Thank you! Congrats & ROCK ON!
Also, thank you again to everyone that has emailed, txt’d, facebooked and otherwised me about the photography classes. Your responses and enthusiasm have been very inspiring!

Just finished the odd Sunday Morning shoot. Doesn’t happen too often, but when it’s your own family from out of town it’s a bit easier to say yes to. Headed off the enjoy the rest of the day balancing life between the grill and the girls. Just a quick post on with some of the weddings from the past few months. Lots is NOT here, which just means I’ll get to post another of these in the fall with more of the same…
A huge thank you goes out to all the brides and grooms (and supporting cast) that really make shooting weddings FUN! And to my team…Connie and Mike, and occasionally someone else, that make it all happen. THANK YOU!
Rock on!

Well we’re still here at the reception and it’s been a great day of shooting. Everything has been PERFECT in every way. Great weather, AWESOME bridal party and family to work with, and the Studio D team has been firing on all cylinders ALL DAY LONG.
We tried a few new things out today…reworked some old ones and generally just had a blast. Connie has been rockin the PR and Mike is covering the floor while I sit here and blog my brains out…
So here’s a few quick ones from today…more to come!
Rock on!
Saturday Wedding
I can’t explain how much I enjoy shooting weddings. I’m totally cool with 10-15 a year at this point for the studio. I like shooting so many other genres that it would be impossible to enjoy any other kinds of shooting if we we’re shooting 40+ weddings.
But this one rocked. First of the year, less than perfect weather – COLD, REALLY WINDY and the threat of RAIN all day long. But everyone stayed positive and just went with it. Also, Mike is still in California, so my regular 2nd shooter wasn’t around, but Connie & Diana stepped up AWESOME and we all had a blast rockin the day out.
Here’s a small sample of Saturday’s goings on. In the end, a perfect way to start the wedding season off for us.
Rock on…
